Manitoba NDP’s Bill 211 Fights For Abortion Rights in The Second Reading

 “Abortion is healthcare,” said NDP MLA Nahanni Fontaine, who introduced Bill 211. “As US States increasingly turn back the clock on bodily autonomy by introducing abortion bans, we know that more Americans will come to Canada seeking abortions. It is critical we protect those seeking abortions and the healthcare professionals providing them.”

It is important to note that the fight for reproductive rights is not just about abortion but also includes access to contraception, comprehensive sexual education, and other reproductive healthcare services. Women’s reproductive rights are fundamental human rights and must be protected and defended in all regions. Women must have the right to decide about their bodies and lives without fear of judgment or prosecution.
