Barrett Confirmed! Supreme Court Stacked 6-3 In Favor of Conservatives

Barrett’s confirmation is seen as a hypocritical betrayal by the Republican Party

Judge Amy Coney Barrett now Justice Amy Coney Barrett of the US Supreme Court. Last night’s swearing-in of Judge Barrett meant President Donald Trump was successful in his attempt to stack the court with Republican-leaning justices.

With the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the country’s highest court, Republicans now have a 6-3 advantage for the first time since 1930. Supreme court justices are lifetime appointments, so it is unlikely Americans will see another Democratic-controlled court for 30 years unless incoming President Biden pushes for an amendment to 13 justices.

As the poles are trending in the favor of a very blue tsunami, the Republicans may have once again sealed their fate by hitching their wagon to Trump and ultimately costing themselves the election, the Senate, and the Congress.

Amy Coney Barrett has pledged to be a non-partisan Justice that upholds the law which has been met with wide skepticism. Barrett is a staunch pro-life conservative with a disdain for ROE vs Wade.

Barrett criticized Chief Justice John Roberts for upholding the law, saying in 2017: “[Chief Justice John] Roberts pushed the Affordable Care Act beyond its plausible meaning to save the statute.” Barrett also expressed disagreement with the Supreme Court’s majority opinion in King v. Burwell, where the court upheld a key component of the law, saying the dissent had “the better of the legal argument.”

Barrett will get her first character test within the week on the bench of the Supreme Court as she will be deciding on cases about Trump’s taxes, voter suppression, black lives matter, the Affordable Care Act, and election inference.
