Yesterday, December 18, was an important day for the Constitution of the United States and a somber day for America.  It is tragic that the President’s actions made impeachment necessary, but we all take a sacred oath, which makes us Custodians of the Constitution.

Speaker Pelosi thanked The Democratic Caucus for the outstanding moral courage that has been demonstrated, not only yesterday but every day of this prayerful process.  “We have defended democracy For The People: honoring the vision of our Founders for a Republic, the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform to defend it and the aspirations of our children to live freely within it”. said, Pelosi

During this historic moment, let us recall the words of King Henry V, as immortalized by Shakespeare:

“This day is called the feast of Crispian

Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot

But he’ll remember with advantages

What feats he did that day;

From this day to the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remember’d;

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,

This day shall gentle his condition:

And gentlemen in England now a-bed

Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”

With allegiance to our Founders, with our hearts full of love for America, we have honored the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
