A fundraising effort is underway to support the family of Alpachino Mignott, a Jamaican rugby player who tragically lost his life while visiting Canada.
Mignott had traveled to Toronto to participate in a rugby match, but went missing in late October 2024. Despite a community-led search effort, his body was recently recovered.
Now, friends, family, and supporters are coming together to help Mignott’s loved ones cover the costs of bringing him home to Jamaica for a proper burial.
Those wishing to contribute to the effort can donate through a GoFundMe page set up in Mignott’s honor. Any support, whether financial or through sharing the fundraising campaign, is greatly appreciated.
The community’s kindness and generosity are a testament to the impact Mignott had on those around him. Rest in peace, Alpachino.
