And woven throughout the displays is a deep, palpable pride in the nation icons, notably legendary gymnast Nadia Comăneci, immortalized forever as the first to score a perfect 10 in Olympic history.

At the heart of this thriving operation stands Pavilion Coordinator Oana Halasz, whose visionary leadership and boundless energy match the devotion seen across the entire room. Like many cultural leaders who have spent decades championing their heritage, Halasz wears multiple hats, coordinating logistics, participating in dances, and sharing the space with her own children while guiding the next generation forward.

“At the end of the day, everything we do is about our community and our people,” Halasz reflects, her passion shining as brightly as the cultural displays around her. “We love our volunteers, we love our culture, and our greatest hope is that people come here to not only experience Romanian traditions, but to embrace the spirit of every single pavilion across Folklorama.”

That overarching spirit is punctuated delightfully by another coordinator dressed in a traditional bear costume, keeping audiences of all ages thoroughly entertained. Coinciding with the festive spirit of June 24, a special day in Romania dedicated to flowers, folklore, and the celebration of summer arrival, the pavilion captures the very essence of what makes Folklorama special.
