Rogers welcomes their newest host Sarah Nick in “Nick at Night”
The outpouring of support received for former Energy 106 FM morning personality Sarah Nick after the her unceremoniously dismissal from the station, has come full circle. Sarah has now joined the Rogers family as the evening host of her solo show, Nick at Night on Kiss 102.3 FM.
We knew it wouldn’t be long before Sarah was scooped up by another radio station. As a matter of fact, it only took a few days before several stations started reaching out to her after news of her departure from 106fm broke. The humility she showed throughout the process, made her the top choice on every radio station host wish list.
Throughout the week, the radio host posted several Tweets with images of a radio signifying she will be ok and exciting news about her future is imminent. Then on September 8th, Sarah sent out the Tweet that read “Hey, instead of drinking coffee with me in the morning, you will now be drinking beer with me at night! Cheers. Nick at Night” launches tonight on @kiss1023”
Sarah has landed! “The shift from morning host to evening personality will require some adjustment, but I am excited. Nick at Night will focus on everything happening in the local Winnipeg scene. It will be lighthearted, interactive, upbeat and positive.” said Sarah.
The last two weeks have been a crazy emotional rollercoaster that took the radio host by surprise. Sarah was genuinely humbled by the support she received from not only in Canada but worldwide. “It was heartwarming and I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to care about my well being. I truly now understand the positive power of radio.” Said Sarah
She attributes her humility to her parents who she says have been so supportive of her career and raised her the right way. Sarah also spoke a lot about the importance of family and how she could have never made it through the last couple of weeks without her sister, grandparents and her loving boyfriend Riley, who have been her pillar of support.
Sarah had her choice of joining many great radio stations to plugin her headset, but in the end, chose Rogers Communications. “I’ve always loved Rogers ever since I volunteered years ago on their street team. I watch a lot of the shows they produce and their hosts are always so happy. Now that I am back on the air with an amazing company is so awesome.” said Sarah
Since the shift from morning to evening host, Sarah is even busier than before. She has received many requests from the business community to assist with social media and brand awareness. Sarah is in her element working with the business community in a time of uncertainty. Reaching out to people comes naturally to her and she is excited she has been given the opportunity to help her community any way she can.
