I faced accusations of racism after posting about the No Frills grocery store located at 700 Balmoral Drive. Despite the wave of criticism, the response from the Black community was overwhelmingly positive, celebrating the promotion and encouraging others to support the store.
It’s essential that we continue to uplift and promote Black-owned businesses, and not be swayed by hate.
The post not only drew attention but also increased traffic and business for the grocery store, illustrating the power of community advocacy, the importance of celebrating achievements and fostering a supportive environment for marginalized businesses.
This experience has reinforced my belief that we must stand together they. We cannot let negativity deter us from supporting one another.
As conversations about diversity and inclusion gain momentum, this story serves as a reminder of the strength found in community solidarity. I encouraged our community to visit the No Frills at 700 Balmoral Drive and show their support for local Black-owned businesses.
