Wise Omoye is a nine-year-old writing wonder kid with a talent for writing comic books and telling stories. Her children’s book, Friendship and Envy, is scheduled for public presentation on November 28. But she was only two years old when her parents noticed she had remarkable gifts. Mary Austin and her husband nurtured her daughter’s talents and are proud and happy at how she has turned out.

“I noticed Wise’s talents when she was around two years old, still learning to talk,” Ms. Austin recollects. “She used to watch cartoons so much, which made a neighbor term her a ‘digital baby.’ Wise started making up short stories and funny things as she grew older, and we wondered how she came about them.”

Wise’s friends at school marvel at her reading and writing prowess. And this has led her headmistress to refer to her as a bookworm. Her parents and siblings are equally amazed by her love for books and reading, and sometimes, her parents chase her to bed when she spends too much reading without a break. Wise is adept at composing songs and singing and likes to joke a lot.

Wise’s mom does short-form writing. She has yet to put her writings together in a book form, unlike her daughter, who has several interesting comic books in the works.

Friendship and Envy, published by Acacia Publishing, is about the virtue of keeping good friends. The book is filled with morals suitable for growing minds and teaches readers how to navigate unpredictable paths in social interactions. The book is also a class on how to mend broken relationships.
