Twitter Permanently Suspends Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Personal Account

Although Greene’s personal account has been suspended, she still has access to her Congressional account

TDS News – January 8, 2021, was the day the former US President Donald Trump was silenced from his tens of millions of followers on his social network of choice Twitter. Within days, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and several of the more popular networks permanently banned or suspended the former president. 

Today, Twitter permanently suspended far-right Qanon Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s verified account @mtgreenee for violation of its policies and terms of use. Truthfully, Twitter’s terms of use only apply to regular folks. In essence, they are an absolute joke.

Twitter has stood idle for years as it watched the vile that continues to be posted on Greene’s account. Just as it did for the insurrectionist president and continues to do for countless members of far-right hate groups, terrorists that stormed the US Capitol Building, anti-democracy agents, and COVID deniers.

Although the platform suspended Greene’s personal account, she still has access to her Congressional account. Twitter’s inability to take serious measures to eliminate the spread of misinformation on a platform that has been weaponized, remains a dangerous threat to society.
