Today Marks The 21st Anniversary Of The September 11 Attacks

21 years ago, the world witnessed the worst of humanity with the September 11 attacks on New York

It’s hard to believe it’s been more than two decades since the September 11 attacks on American soil. The deadly attack cemented the worst of society and its hatred of Americans by the terrorist group Al Qaeda.

The September 11 attacks (often referred to as 9/11) were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamist terrorist group al-Qaeda against the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

“Twenty-one years later, we keep alive the memory of all the precious lives stolen from us at Ground Zero, in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon. To the families and loved ones who still feel the ache, Jill and I hold you close in our hearts. We will never forget.” Said, President Biden

“On the 21st anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, we remember the nearly 3,000 victims. We offer our condolences to their loved ones. And we thank those who stepped up that day – and in the days that followed – to keep others safe.”Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

The attacks resulted in 2,977 fatalities, over 25,000 injuries, and substantial long-term health consequences, in addition to at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. 9/11 is the single deadliest terrorist attack in human history and the single deadliest incident for firefighters and law enforcement officers in the history of the United States, with 343 and 72 killed, respectively. Two of the planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, crashed into the North and South towers, respectively, of the World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan.

Debris and the resulting fires caused a partial or complete collapse of all other buildings in the World Trade Center complex, including the 47-story 7 World Trade Center tower, as well as significant damage to ten other large surrounding structures.

The construction of One World Trade Center began in November 2006, and the building opened in November 2014. Numerous memorials have been constructed, including the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington County, Virginia, and the Flight 93 National Memorial at the Pennsylvania crash site. As of September 1, 2021, America has pulled its forces out of Afghanistan and effectively handing the country back to the Taliban. The withdrawal signals a return to an oppressive regime and stone-age rules of law. Women empowerment, rights for members of the LGBT2Q and progressive thoughts of equality, have no place under a Taliban government. For over two decades, the people of Afghan have called for the withdrawal of American and international forces, now that it has happened, there is a mass exodus from the country.
