Optical networks utilize fiber-optic cables, which transmit data using pulses of light, offering significantly faster data transfer rates compared to traditional copper-based networks. The gigabit optical network plays a crucial role in supporting the increasing demand for high-speed internet services, enabling faster and more reliable data transmission for various applications, including internet browsing, video streaming, and other bandwidth-intensive tasks. Over 23.02 million ports were established to facilitate gigabit optical network services.
