Many Americans believe, the rights, freedoms, and justice, granted us, by the United States Constitution, automatically, means, we are entitled to complain, about anything, we aren’t satisfied with! However, since, we often witness, more eligible voters, not voting, than taking advantage of that right, the reality is, we shouldn’t be allowed to resort to complaining, unless/ until, we exercise our right, and obligation, to VOTE! In America, our citizens must consider voting, as both, a right, as well as a duty and obligation! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why, it matters, deeply.
1. Views; visions/ visionary; value; values: We must demand, political candidates, for elected offices, clearly articulate their views, reasons, and rationale, and how, they intend to transform their rhetoric, and promises, to viable solutions! Is the specific candidate, visionary, or, simply, someone, who articulates rhetoric, based on his polling, and populist attempts? How might his visions, become formulated, in a meaningful way? Are his ideas, valuable, and will they achieve, the best bang – for – the – buck? Does he share the values, which differentiates, America, from much of the rest of the world?
2. Options; organized; opportunities: What options does a specific candidate consider, and does he possess, a truly, open – mind, in order to make things, better? Does he seek to merely, make a difference, or a quality, change – for – the – better? What is his plan, and does he present his, clearly, thoroughly, and in a focused way? Does he have the organized ability, to get things done? Is the attitude, one, which thinks, in terms of problems, or challenges? How well might he, transform, obstacles, to opportunities?
3. Truthful; trust; true; timely, time – tested: We need public officials, who earn our trust, every day, in every way! While, we are entitled to our own opinions, facts must be true! Wouldn’t it be nice, if we elected truthful leaders? There is no place for procrastination, but, rather, well – considered, timely action, is needed, and necessary! In addition, he must study, and learn, from his own experiences, and those of others, in order to proceed, with time – tested techniques, ideas, and relevant skills!
4. Empathy; emphasis; energy/ energize; environment; evolve: If a candidate lacks empathy, he generally won’t acquire it, if elected, and, thus his ability, to place his emphasis, where it may be best needed, and used, is minimized! He must possess the personal energy, which energizes, others, in a positive, productive manner! Ignoring necessities, such as environmental challenges, and denying Climate Change, are not the evolving behaviors, needed, for this nation, the world, and its citizens.
Don’t just complain, but become an informed voter, and VOTE! Wake up, America, and assume your personal responsibility, before it’s too late!
