Tragedy in McCreary: RCMP Investigate Triple Homicide and Suicide

On August 16, 2024, tragedy struck in the RM of McCreary, near Ste Rose du Lac, Manitoba, when the RCMP responded to a series of harrowing events that left three people dead. At approximately 10:10 am, Ste Rose du Lac RCMP received a call reporting a deceased male on Road 84 West. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 41-year-old man who had died from a self-inflicted injury.
While officers were still on the scene, a second call came in at 10:40 am requesting a well-being check on a 37-year-old woman. RCMP officers visited her residence but were unable to locate her. Concerned for her safety, the officers expanded their search to a nearby home. There, they made a devastating discovery: three individuals were found deceased inside the residence. The victims were identified as a 66-year-old woman, a 65-year-old man, and a 35-year-old man. The RCMP is treating their deaths as homicides.
The search for the missing woman continued, with additional RCMP resources being deployed to the area. At around 1:00 pm, the woman was found safe and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The RCMP has confirmed that all individuals involved in these tragic events were known to each other, and the incidents are believed to be related. Authorities have stated that they are not looking for any additional suspects in connection with these deaths.
