Today Is Bell Let’s Talk Day

Bell let’s talk day is an annual event that takes place on the last Wednesday of January. The event is organized by Bell Canada, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies, to raise awareness about mental health and to raise funds for mental health initiatives.

The first Bell Let’s Talk Day was held in 2011, and since then, it has grown to become one of the largest mental health awareness campaigns in Canada. The event is centered around a simple premise: for every text message, mobile and long-distance call made by Bell customers, every tweet using the #BellLetsTalk hashtag, and every Facebook share of the Bell Let’s Talk image, Bell will donate five cents to mental health initiatives.

The funds raised by Bell Let’s Talk Day are used to support a wide range of mental health initiatives, including research, education, the development of new treatments and therapies, and to provide support and assistance to people with mental illness. Some of the organizations that have benefited from the campaign include the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.

“Don’t ever give up. To be successful in this world you need grit, determination and perseverance.” Said Sandra L.A Boszko, Featured on the cover image, an Award Winning Canadian Author and Mental Health Advocate

One of the key reasons for the success of Bell Let’s Talk Day is the way in which it has helped to break down the stigma surrounding mental health. By bringing the issue of mental health out into the open and encouraging people to talk about it, the campaign has helped to destigmatize mental illness and to make it more acceptable for people to seek help.

It is worth noting that the campaign is not just limited to Canada, but it has expanded to other countries as well. The campaign is a great way to raise awareness and funds for mental health initiatives, and it shows that by working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of people with mental illness. Bell Let’s Talk Day is a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health and that we all have a role to play in supporting those who are struggling with mental health.
