Happy Canada Day, One To Celebrate And Reflect

Today Canada Turns 156 years old

Today Canadians celebrate Canada Day. A day not only to celebrate but also a day to be used to reflect on the country’s past and set a course for a more inclusive future.

Canada is a great country of diverse cultures that embraces multiculturalism. A land of opportunities and hope. For the last few years, gathering together in a festive atmosphere standing shoulder to shoulder was not allowed. And now that things are returning to normal, a celebration is precisely what the country needs.

Although Canada Day has traditionally been used to celebrate, many in the nation may not feel the need to do so as they search for ways to reconcile with the country’s history and honour those that were unjustly taken and never made it home.

2023 is the year Canadians take another step closer to reconciliation, a year closer to ensuring all Canadians have clean drinking water and a year where Canadians can live freely without the fear of war, not feeling accepted or marginalized.

Today we embrace each other and look forward to a year of renewed hope and optimism. Today we wish everyone that calls Canada home a happy and safe Canada Day.
