Cab Driver, Filled With Integrity Becomes Winnipeg’s 8th Homicide

On March 19, 2020, at approximately 5:25 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a taxi cab driver in distress. The cab was stopped in the roadway in the 500 block of Burrows Avenue. Responding officers located the driver of the cab who had been seriously assaulted. He was conveyed to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries. Said The Winnipeg Police

Balvir Toor was a kind and honest person and dedicated his life to providing for his family. In a recent Facebook post, a passenger talks about leaving her wallet filled with cash in Balvir’s cab and he drove back to her house to return it. This speaks volumes to his character and integrity.

As of now we don’t have many details related to this incident,” a statement from the company reads. “We have been providing whatever information we have related to this taxi and the driver to Winnipeg Police and Winnipeg Vehicles For Hire.
