First, we marched peacefully. Then, Black People United for Change handed a petition to MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam, who read it aloud at Queen’s Park, demanding justice and real action against anti-Black racism.

Now, we’re taking it to the federal level. NDP MP Gord Johns is set to present a petition in the House of Commons, calling on the Canadian government to:

  1. Formally acknowledge and apologize for the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Black Canadians.

  2. Enact legislation to address anti-Black racism, including hate crime protections and institutional accountability.

  3. Dismantle systemic discrimination across all sectors to ensure safety, dignity, and equal opportunity for Black Canadians.

This is for every Black man, woman, and child. Your voice matters. Your signature counts.

Let’s make history—again.
